Dial-a-Ride - Basingstoke 01256 462101

Dial a Ride provides door-to-door transport for anyone who finds it difficult or impossible to use ordinary bus services. You can use this service if you have a mobility or sensory impairment which means that you cannot use or have difficulty, or discomfort, using bus services. You do not have to be registered disabled or a wheelchair user. For example, you might have difficulty climbing steps onto buses or be unable to walk to the bus stop.
Its Rural Ride Scheme only operates in Kingsclere and the local area on Mondays. Unfortunately the service only allows one hour for shopping in Basingstoke town.
How does it work? Firstly, you will need to register, by telephoning your local Dial-a-Ride scheme and requesting a registration form. Simply complete and return it. Once the scheme has notified that you are registered, you can call again to make a booking.
What does it cost? Fares are similar to bus fares. You pay the driver, just as you would on a normal bus or taxi. Travel tokens may be used

Basingstoke Community Transport
Chute House, Church Street, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG21 7QT
Telephone - 01256 320501

Rural mini-buses for use by local organisations. Organisations must be affiliated to Community Transport and may then hire buses using their own or Community Transport Volunteer drivers at a low rate per mile. It is necessary for suitably licenced volunteer drivers to undertake a driving proficiency test before being allowed to drive the vehicles. No PSV licence is required as long as the vehicles are not used for hire and reward.

The Kingsclere Village Club is affiliated to BCT and bookings by village organisations can be made through them.
