Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust (BNHFT) provides acute hospital services to a population of around 300,000 patients in Basingstoke, Tadley, Alton and Bordon as well as surrounding towns and villages in north and mid Hampshire and West Berkshire. The majority of services are provided from Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, which was built to the north of Basingstoke town in the 1970s; but we also provide outpatient and assessment services from the Alton and Bordon community hospitals. BNHFT also provide a number of specific services for rare or complex illnesses for patients across the UK, including liver cancer, prostate cancer and pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare lower abdominal cancer). We also provide the regional haemophilia service. Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital has over 400 beds, from which it provides a full range of services for patients who need both planned and emergency treatment. This includes our purpose built Diagnosis and Treatment Centre (DTC) , a modern planned care centre, which opened in February 2005. With an annual income of over £120 million , the hospital employs 2400 staff who manage and care for the 180,000 patients each year. |
